On-Campus Parking at Texas A&M University
Texas A&M offers both surface lot and garage parking, with options for hourly, daily or long-term permits. Here’s what to know before purchasing a permit or pulling into a metered space.
Surface Lots
Surface lots offer both short-term and long-term parking options across campus. Whether you need to park for a quick visit or every day as a commuter, Texas A&M has surface lots available in key areas near academic buildings and residence halls.
Short-term parking is available through metered spaces or the ParkMobile app. These spots are ideal for quick visits, ranging from a few minutes to several hours. ParkMobile allows you to pay directly from your phone, or you can use pay-by-plate machines in larger surface lots.
Loading Zones
Loading zones are marked spaces that allow temporary stops for pick-up or drop-off. You can park with your hazard lights on while loading or unloading. No permit is required, but these are active tow-away zones and should only be used for brief stops.
Long-Term Parking: Surface Lots and Garages
Long-term surface lot permits are a popular option for commuter students. These permits allow you to park in designated lots across campus based on your classification and availability. Permits are typically offered by semester or academic year.
You can check your eligibility and purchase a permit through your Texas A&M Transportation Services account and view which permits you qualify for.
For covered or more central parking, Texas A&M also provides several garage options with both daily and permit-based access. Garages are open to students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Pricing and Permits
Daily parking rates on campus vary based on the garage and time of day. Typical rates include:
- Hourly parking at roughly $2 to $3 dollars per hour
- Daily maximums around $15
- Off-peak rates in the evenings and on weekends
The Transportation Services have created separate parking plans for each event on campus. Students with Any Valid Permits (AVP) can view the specific schedule for sporting events, campus events or move-in and move-out to plan where to keep their car on-campus.
Daily parking is a good option for occasional visits to campus. If you plan to park on campus every day or keep your car on campus full-time, a semester or annual permit may be the better choice.
Texas A&M students living on-campus have residential priority for on-campus parking locations. On-campus Northside and Southside residents are encouraged to purchase permits for Lot 30, Lot 40, Northside Garage (NSG) or West Campus Garage (WCG).
Starting in 2026, sections of the most popular lot for off-campus students, Lot 100, will no longer be an Any Valid Permit (AVP) lot. Sections 100a-c and 100e-g near Reed Arena will now require a Lot 100 pass for students to park there to address parking availability concerns. Sections of Lot 100 near Olsen Field (100j), Cushing Stadium (100m) and Mitchell ‘40 Tennis Center (100d) will remain AVP lots for commuters.
Other on-campus parking options include:
- Polo Rd Garage
- Gene Stallings Blvd. Garage
- West Campus Garage
- University Center Garage (some seniors and graduates only)
Permit pricing for students usually ranges from around $300 to $1,000 per semester depending on the location and demand. Due to Texas A&M’s widespread campus, students are encouraged to register for a permit as soon as possible to avoid unnecessarily long walks from their car.

Off-Campus Parking Options Near Texas A&M University
Living off campus gives you more independence and flexibility, but parking availability and cost can vary widely depending on your apartment location and neighborhood. Here’s what to know about off-campus parking options in College Station.
Street Parking
Free street parking is the most budget-friendly option, but spaces can be limited and often farther from campus.
You’ll find free street parking in select areas of College Station, most commonly in neighborhoods farther from Texas A&M. Some areas to check include:
- Residential streets south of campus
- Neighborhoods near George Bush Drive
- Pockets of free parking near University Drive
Always check street signs, as areas may require residential permits, have restricted time limits or require payment through the ParkMobile app. This is common in high-demand areas such as Northgate, University Drive and parts of downtown Bryan.
Rates are typically charged in short increments and often range from $1 to $2 per hour. Maximum time limits vary by street and many streets do not allow overnight parking without a city permit.
Surface Lots
Surface lots are a convenient option if your off-campus apartment does not include parking. These lots are often located near Northgate and University Drive and are managed by either the city or private companies.
Most operate through ParkMobile or pay-by-plate machines, with typical pricing around $3 per hour or $15 for all-day parking.
Off-Campus Garages
In addition to on-campus garages, there are several off-campus garages available to Texas A&M students, operated by the City of College Station or private entities.
Popular off-campus garages include:
- Northgate Parking Garage
- College Main Parking Garage
- Mixed-use development garages near University Drive
Rates typically follow standard city pricing, with hourly and daily options similar to surface lots.
Many student apartments near campus also offer garage parking. Some popular properties with garage parking include:
- Apartments with structured parking near University Drive
- Gated garage communities along Texas Avenue
- Mixed-use student housing with attached parking decks

A Bike and Motorcycle Friendly Campus
Whether you are cruising around on a moped or a bike, Texas A&M requires registration for both.
As one of the top five bicycle-friendly universities in Texas, Texas A&M offers various ways to safely bike around campus with bike paths along university roads and bike racks on almost every corner. If you choose to use micromobility to get around campus, you are required to register your device for a one-time fee of $10. Micromobility devices include bicycles, scooters or boards that are only capable of electric assist or analog driving systems.
If you are planning to use a motorcycle or moped, Texas A&M requires riders to park in designated spaces only. This means parking is not allowed in traditional automobile, striped or numbered spaces within parking garages or surface lots. Motorcycle and moped permits can be purchased for around $200 with deals for students who already have a vehicle parking permit.
Game Day Parking Options
Aggies are known for their booming presence inside Kyle Field. Outside the stadium, however, you may find it difficult to secure parking. Fortunately, Texas A&M offers a variety of parking options for fans both on campus and nearby areas like downtown Bryan.
For season ticket holders or fans attending multiple games, an annual Texas A&M parking permit is available. This permit allows holders to park in lots designated for any valid permits on campus. For those attending individual games, a limited quantity of single-game parking permits are available for pre-purchase beginning August 1.
Students with Any Valid Permit (AVP) parking can view the specific sport event parking for available lots. Starting in 2026, these lots will also be available to Fan Field permit holders for the same price as other surface parking lots. These holders will also have access to RELLIS and HSC parking.
On-campus shuttles and buses are also available for students and other fans who prefer to avoid the walk in the Texas heat. These services run three hours prior to kick-off and continue up to an hour after the game ends. For detailed routes and updates, you can visit the live RouteMap on Texas A&M’s website.
Additionally, a free shuttle service is offered from downtown Bryan parking locations, such as the Roy Kelly Parking garage. These off-campus shuttles operate on the same schedule, beginning three hours before kickoff and running until one hour post-game.
