The Pecos

  • Located on Floors: 1-4, 6, 7

What sets The Pecos apart from The Pedernales is the slightly smaller bedroom and living area exchanged for a roomier walk-in closet. The full-size washer and dryer are stacked to maximize living space, and the unit is designed with a streamlined, one-wall kitchen to increase efficiency.

As far as studios go, The Pecos is a great layout for the individual who values privacy and room for their wardrobe. Large windows keep natural light a priority, a stand-up shower maximizes space, and the bedroom and living area are tucked away for additional privacy. Available on every floor except Level 5, The Pecos is everything an Aggie could want in a studio.

The Pedernales

  • Square Feet: 430
  • Located on Floors: 5
  • Views of: Courtyard

Only available on Level 5, The Pedernales trades closet space for a larger bedroom and living area. Enjoy a larger walkway, larger bathroom, and extra storage space on top of your side-by-side washer and dryer. Paired with a standard closet, this layout maximizes the extra space to give you more room for your day-to-day activities.

The Pedernales is an accessible unit, as well. The space will feature slightly lower countertops, adapted kitchen appliances like a stove with front-facing buttons and a counter microwave, a side-by-side washer and dryer, bathroom grab bars and removable counters. What Comes With Both Studios

Both The Pecos and The Pedernales will come with an entertainment stand, sofa and a wall-mounted Smart TV. Each of The Jay’s studios also comes equipped with a coffee table.

Each bedroom has a full-sized bed and mattress, two stackable dresser drawers, a desk and a desk chair. Deadbolt door locks on apartment doors ensure security and privacy.

Which Studio Is Right for You?

While both options are quite similar, the choice between which studio at The Jay is right for you will ultimately come down to the small details you value more. For example, the extra closet space is nice if you know you have a lot of clothes, but a larger bedroom and living area is nice if you want to have company over. Both have courtyard views, but if you know you don’t want to live on Level 5, then The Pecos on floors 1-4, 6 and 7 is the choice for you.

No matter which decision you make, The Pecos and The Pedernales are both strong choices designed with A&M students and college life in mind. We hope that this article gives you more clarity on the differences between them and helps you evaluate your studio options at The Jay.
